Surprise, AZ –The wait is over for Asante, the anxiously awaited master-planned community of epic proportions, as the first homes go up for sale this summer. Built along Grand Avenue in Surprise just west of the future Loop 303 freeway, this 3,600 acre project is planning a full range of features including 14,000 homes, an adjacent one million square foot shopping center, new on-site schools, fire stations, parks, and recreational amenities.

Lennar’s community Vistas at Asante, offers 4 models and 9 different home designs ranging from 1,820 to 3,561 square feet. In 2009 and beyond, numerous other builders and projects will be joining Asante.

Alan Jones, Regional Vice President for Lennar Corp., which is developing the project's residential component comments, "With planned attached and detached single-family homes, Asante allows a mixture of people with different lifestyles to live within the same community. By the time this project is completed, we expect to be able to accommodate up to 40,000 residents in a diverse community.”

“The term Asante is based off the Italian word for ‘Gateway’. From the moment you enter, you’ll never want to leave, and never have to,” continues Jones. “We’ve spent a great deal of effort into bringing life to Asante by providing top notch, unique amenities, and with the sheer magnitude of this project, we have more than enough resources to accomplish that.”

Located in the Northwest Valley, Asante will exist as a gateway between Surprise and the northwest desert. Visitors and residents alike will be greeted by the Old World style bridges, waterfall aqueducts, lakes, lush vegetation and unique architecture that lend refreshing originality accented by majestic mountain views.

To explore the area, 27 miles of interconnected multi-purpose trails will be in place with pedestrian underpasses at major arteries. Some major amenities planned for Asante include a 55 acre regional park with sports fields, a catch and release fishing lake, playgrounds, and onsite schools. The first of the schools to open will be the Elementary school this fall. A Veterans Memorial and street named after local hero Pat Tillman underscore a strong presence of American patriotism.

Also opening in 2009, Lennar has teamed up with Barclay Group, a Scottsdale-based shopping center developer, to build Surprise Spectrum, a 124-acre power center that will be comparable in size to Phoenix's Desert Ridge Marketplace. The $100 million development, at 163rd and Grand avenues, will include a national department store, grocery store, sit-down and quick-service restaurants, and other retailers. The first are planned to open in 2009.

Since being founded more than 50 years ago, Lennar has grown to become one of the nation’s leading homebuilders, and a dedicated builder in the Phoenix area. A few of the recent master-plans Lennar has developed include Layton Lakes, Greer Ranch, Cibola Vista and coming later this year, Lone Mountain. With hundreds of communities nationwide and with a product offering designed for first-time, move-up and luxury homebuyers, Lennar has long distinguished itself by simply including everything as standard. Everything You Want, Everything You Need, That’s the Logic of Lennar.
